Rasaad

Rasaad is a Lawful Good Monk who can be recruited in all Baldur's Gate games.

Baldur's Gate 1

Rasaad can be found in Nashkel early in the game. He has a side quest, but this will not be activated until you reach Baldur's Gate later in the game.

Due to the experience cap in BG1, monks cannot reach the higher levels where their powerful abilities come into play (fists hitting as magical weapons, immunities to various effects such as poison). This means that Rasaad is quite weak throughout the game, and is likely to get killed on a regular basis - the fact that he has a bonus to his speed and therefore charges into combat first also doesn't help.

Baldur's Gate 2

Rasaad can be found in Trademeet, which will appear on your map after you have visited the City Gates area. He has no joining conditions, and after a while in your party he will open up a side quest. It's a good idea to wait a while before starting the quest though, as it involves some battles which may be difficult for low level parties.
